LIAM DAVIES is delivering in style each time he steps through the ropes.

He oozed class when he won the vacant WBC International Silver Super Bantamweight title against Dixon Flores in Birmingham in October 2021 and in June of this year he fulfilled his dream of becoming British champion by outpointing Marc Leach, who was making his first defence of the treasured belt.

Liam, who is also comfortable at bantamweight, was pushed by the former World title challenger Flores, but won by a wide margin on the three cards (100-90 twice and 99-91) after the ten rounds of action.

Against Leach, who he put down in the first round, he won by a unanimous verdict of 116-113, 115-113 and 118-111.

His two previous fights under the Queensberry banner had been spectacular exhibitions of blistering power and accuracy.

The encounters against Stefan Slavchev and Raymond Commey lasted a combined nine minutes and 53 seconds and featured four knockdowns before the referee intervened to spare further punishment.

He had been brought to Frank Warren’s attention winning the English Bantamweight title in November of 2020 when his heavy hands forced Sean Cairns to retire on his stool after six rounds.

Prior to winning that title he was striving to make a name for himself on the small hall circuit and picking up experience against redoubtable journeymen.

His last four performances have proven how much those learning fights taught him.

Davies may have boxed just 13 times as a professional, but it’s clear that as the performances get better the belts will get bigger.

On November 19 2022 in his hometown of Telford, Davies secured his biggest and most notable win to date when he became European champion via a convincing points defeat of Ionut Baluta for the vacant title.

Davies would twice defend his titles beating veteran Jason Cunningham in one round and unbeaten Italian Vincenzo La Femina over 5 rounds.

In March 2024, Davies would challenge for his first world honours beating former IBO World Champion Erik Robles by TKO in the 2nd round to become IBO World Champion.
