By Queensberry Promotions

What an action-packed year 2024 has been for Queensberry - delivering boxing fans from around the world not just some of the most highly anticipated showdowns, but also some of the jaw-dropping knockouts in recent history.

From the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh to London’s Wembley Stadium, let’s roll back the tape and remind ourselves of some of the best Queensberry knockouts of 2024.

1. Daniel Dubois vs. Anthony Joshua

On the 21st of September, 2024, Daniel Dubois faced the 2x world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in front of a record-breaking crowd at Wembley Stadium. In just five out of the scheduled 12 rounds, ‘Dynamite’ dismantled AJ and catapulted himself to global sporting stardom.

Dubois started the bout strong, landing several significant blows and defending several of hard punches from AJ. With seconds to go of round number 1, Dubois threw an overhead right, which connected with AJ’s chin and brought him down for the first of four times.

After the first knockdown, Dubois’ confidence seemingly grew, and he continued to apply his relentless pressure on AJ throughout the next three rounds, knocking him down two more times in the 3rd and the 4th rounds.

In round number five, a straight right from AJ surprised Dubois, sending him back a few steps. Anthony Joshua felt this moment as an opportunity to close the fight and stepped forward, but he was met with a devastating right hook to the chin, which brought him to the canvas. He failed to come up by the ten count, adding yet another victory to Dubois’ staggering professional record.

Zhilei Zhang vs Deontay Wilder

2.  Zhilei Zhang vs Deontay Wilder

Another memorable KO from the Queensberry camp came when Zhilei Zhang secured a 5th-round victory via TKO over the ex-WBC heavyweight champion, ‘The Bronze Bomber’, Deontay Wilder.

The clash between the two heavyweights occurred on the 1st of June, 2024, and was part of the Queensberry vs Matchroom 5v5 boxing event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Right from the beginning, ‘Big Bang’ asserted dominance over the almost 70lbs lighter Wilder by landing a series of powerful shots to the body and the head. Following a dominant first round, Zhang continued to apply pressure, which seemingly started to wear on Wilder, who grew more and more tired as the rounds went by.

Wilder had a good start to round number five, landing a powerful right that appeared to hurt the Queensberry heavyweight, but as the round unfolded, Zhang once again established dominance.

With seconds to go in round number five, Zhang landed a powerful right hook, which connected with Wilder’s chin. A second right hook followed shortly after, which dropped Wilder flat on the canvas - leaving the crowd in awe and securing the Chinese boxer another major victory.

Moses Itauma vs Demsey McKean

3. Moses Itauma vs Demsey McKean

Moses Itauma, ended 2024 with a stunning 1st round victory over ‘The Tower’, Dempsey McKean of Australia who, at the time, had a professional boxing record of 22 wins and just one loss.

This was an anticipated matchup for the young heavyweight superstar as a potential victory over the far more experienced McKean would catapult him to the higher echelons of the heavyweight division and solidify him as one of the most dangerous men in boxing.

And unsurprisingly for many, Itauma looked calm and confident, knocking the Australian boxer down once before sending him to the canvas less than 20 seconds later with a powerful left to the chin.

This secured Itauma his 11th consecutive win (7th via TKO) as a professional boxer and his 7th professional win with a first-round stoppage.

David Adeleye vs Solomon Dacres

4. David Adeleye vs Solomon Dacres

One of the most electrifying knockouts of 2024 came courtesy of David Adeleye. On the 7th of December 2024, at Wembley Arena in London, Adeleye faced off against Solomon ‘The Real Deal’ Dacres - a hard-hitting orthodox fighter from Warley, England.

The bout between the two Englishmen continued for a total of one out of the scheduled ten rounds, after ‘Big D’ landed a powerful left hook, which connected with the head of Dacres, sending him down to the canvas.

The fight resulted in the referee Darren Sarginson to call off the fight and declare David Adeleye the winner via TKO.

Nick Ball vs Ronny Rios

5. Nick Ball vs Ronny Rios

Last but not least, we have the clash between Nick Ball vs Ronny Rios, which took place on the 5th of October, 2024, at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, UK.

But in round number ten, with just over a minute to go, Ball unloaded a series of powerful punches that brought down Rios and even sent him over the ropes of the ring. And although the American managed to get up on his feet and was eager to keep going, his team threw in the towel, resulting in a 10th-round TKO victory for Nick Ball.
