Hannah Joins The Queensberry Ranks

By Queensberry Promotions

SOON-TO-BE WBC world title challenger Hannah Rankin has signed a promotional agreement with Frank Warren and Queensberry.

The vacant WBC Super Welterweight Championship will be up for grabs when Hannah (13-6, 3), the former WBA and IBO world champion from Glasgow, takes on the Slovenian Ema Kozin (23-1-1, 12) in what will be her ninth world title fight in her 20th appearance as a professional.

“I am really excited about this opportunity,” said the 33-year-old. ‘It is great to be working with Frank, he has some fantastic fighters on the roster and there is always some space for the females. I am very proud to be joining him and joining the likes of Raven (Chapman) as well. It is going to be great.

“Prior to the pandemic I was actually signed to Salita Promotions over in America, so I would have been boxing over there, but I couldn’t get over so he released me from my contract so I could fight elsewhere.

“This is a great opportunity for me now. It has been a long time coming, I am so proud to be joining Frank and Queensberry and having such a platform in TNT Sports, who have fantastic sports on the channel.

“Being Scottish and having the chance to build myself here in the UK in front of British fans is brilliant. Having a few Scottish stablemates, I would love Frank to have a big show up in Scotland so I can box in front of my family and friends up there.

“That is on the cards and, when I become WBC world champion, I will be looking to unify the division. That is what I am aiming for.”

Promoter Frank Warren added: “I am so happy to bring such a decorated and respected fighter, such as Hannah is, to work with us here at Queensberry.

“Hannah’s career has been an incredible success story, being a two-time world champion and fighting the best out there. I am so looking forward to bringing her onto our platform and giving her the showcase in Britain that she so deserves, starting up in Manchester on November 18 with a fight for the WBC world title against Ema Kozin.”
