JAY HARRIS UD12 (112-117, 113-116, 114,115) Swansea’s Jay Harris dethroned Commonwealth Flyweight Champion Thomas Essomba in the night’s main event to win his first professional title in just his tenth fight. The Gary Lockett-managed fighter came into the bout on the back of six impressive knockout wins but was made to work every step of the way by Rhope’s Esssomba. CRAIG POXTON TKO10 (2.20) Warriors Boy jones Jnr and Craig Poxton produced a small hall classic in front of the BoxNation cameras as they went to war over ten gruelling rounds before the Lowestoft Super-Featherweight stopped Jnr in the final round to win his Southern Area strap. 6 X 3 Minute Rounds Lightweight Contest D.P CARR WPTS6 (60-54) VS. LEWIS JONES D.P Carr was forced to dig deep for his win over durable Leicester man Lewis Jones. A huge right hand from the Sidcup banger floored Jones toward the end of the opening round but he was able to recover and fight on. Jones, not deterred by the first-round knockdown, took it to Carr in the second round, landing some clean shots of his own. The fourth round was more competitive, Jones looked to frustrate Carr, who remained patient and landed some well-timed body shots. ‘The Cannon’ didn’t get another knockout win but moved to 7-0 (4 KO’s) with the referee scoring the bout 60-54 in his favour. 6 X 3 Minute Rounds Super-Middleweight Contest LERRONE RICHARDS WPTS6 (60-54) VS. ATTILA TIBOR NAGY Ice cool New Malden Super-Middleweight slickter Lerrone Richards cruised to a 60-54 decision over game Hungarian Attila Tibor Nagy. Richards looked relaxed and quickly established his jab in the opening round, using his height to his advantage. Nagy was frustrated by Richard’s southpaw stance, the iBox Gym boxer landed impressive combinations throughout and began to land heavier body shots in the third and fourth rounds. The former Billy Joe Saunders sparring partner maintained impressive focus throughout and was rewarded with a 60-54 decision from the referee. 6 X 3 Minute Rounds Super-Lightweight Contest SANJEEV SAHOTA TKO2 (2.08) VS. ELEMIR RAFAEL Hornchurch ticket seller Sanjeev Singh Sahota sent his army of fans home happy with a ferocious second round stoppage win over Slovakian Elemir Rafael. The hugely-popular Dominic Negus-trained Super-Lightweight burst out of the blocks, forcing a first-round knockdown after a barrage of hurtful punches. It was more of the same in the second round and ‘SSS’ landed a variety of punches on Rafael, the referee waves off the contest at 2.08 after sustained pressure from Sahota, who improved his unbeaten record to 6-0. 6 X 3 Minute Rounds Super-Featherweight Contest ARCHIE SHARP TKO2 (0.42) VS. ALEX PHILLIPS In the evening’s penultimate bout, Welling Super-Featherweight Archie Sharp moved to 7-0 (3 KO’s) with a hugely impressive second round stoppage win over Derby’s Alex Phillips. ‘The Sharpshooter’ lived up to his name, as his timing and speed proved too much for Phillips in the opening round. A massive attack from Sharp pinned his opponent against the ropes at the beginning of the second round before he got his knockdown. The referee waved off the contest 42 seconds into the second, much to the delight of the hundreds of Sharp supporters. 4 X 3 Minute Rounds Super-Lightweight Contest CHARLIE DRISCOLL WPTS4 (40-36) VS. DAN CARR Talented South Ockendon Super-Lightweight prospect Charlie Driscoll produced a near punch-perfect performance to move to 4-0 against Dan Carr. The Essex man moved well throughout the contest, displaying good footwork and punching from tight angles. 4 X 3 Minute Rounds Super-Middleweight Contest HARLEY BENN TKO2 (0.43) VS. DOMINK ZUBKO Hornchurch Super-Middleweight Harley Benn, son of former two-weight World Champion and British boxing icon Nigel, blasted out Slovakia’s Domink Zubko inside two rounds to pick up a memorable win on his highly-anticipated professional debut. Speaking to the BoxNation cameras afterwards he said: “I’m glad I’ve got the first one out of the way. It’s the best feeling I’ve had in my life winning that fight! Lenny Butcher calmed me down after the first round and told me to get the body shots in. It worked!” 4 X 3 Minute Rounds Super-Middleweight Contest ZAK CHELLI WTD3 (2.10) VS. JACOB LUCAS Fulham Super-Middleweight debutant Zak Chelli wowed BoxNation viewers as he earned a technical decision against Trowbridge fighter Jacob Lucas. It was a fast start form Chelli who timed a cracking left hand over the top to wobble Lucas in the opening round. Chelli remained on the front foot in the second and landed a couple of big right hands, earning a knockdown late on. Sensing a stoppage win, Chelli went for a big finish in the third round but an accidental clash of heads opened a nasty cut on the left eye of Lucas. The referee scored the contest 30-26 in the West London man’s favour, a strong debut from Chelli! 4 X 3 Minute Rounds International Heavyweight Contest NAYLOR BALL TKO1 (0.43) VS. OLEG LOPAJEVS Pinewood Heavyweight debutant Naylor Ball opened the evening’s action with an explosive first round demolition of experienced Latvian Oleg Lopajevs. Bull-strong Ball floored Lopajevs three times before the referee waved off the contest after just 43 seconds.
