Zach Parker has signed a new long-term promotional agreement with Frank Warren and Queensberry.
The former British champion and WBO International title holder teamed up with the Hall of Fame promoter in early 2021 and subsequently recorded three straight knockout victories over Vaughn Alexander, Sherzod Khusanov and Marcus Morrison to secure his credentials as No.1 contender for the WBO world title.
Queensberry twice won purse bids to stage his shot against then champion Demetrius Andrade, with the undefeated American withdrawing on both occasions. The 29-year-old ultimately fought John Ryder for the Interim version of the world title in November of last year. Unfortunately he fell victim to a severe hand injury, which forced him to retire after four rounds.
Successful surgery followed and the Derbyshire native returned to the ring last month to defeat Khalid Graidia in his comeback fight at Wembley, following which he hinted that he may consider fights at light heavyweight in future.
“I’m delighted to commit my long term future to Frank,” commented Parker on his Queensberry extension. “He massively backed me with the Andrade purse bid and the Ryder fight after a series of development fights and stuck true to his word.
“Importantly he has full belief in me like I do him and there is no one better in the world of boxing to promote me and help me become world champion.
“I’d like to also thank Neil Marsh, my manager, and BCB boxing.”
Neil Marsh added: “I’m delighted to have done the deal with Frank and Queensberry. He truly has delivered everything he promised and we are grateful to have his support. I look forward to a big future ahead.”
Big fights and major titles will quickly be on the horizon, according to promoter Frank Warren.
“I am thrilled to have successfully negotiated this extension with Zach because he is unquestionably a quality fighter who delivers the goods for the fans in a big way.
“He was so unfortunate with the hand injury because he was enjoying such momentum at the time, but we stick by our fighters and Zach, once again, demonstrated what he is all about in his recent return fight.
“Now he is back we will be hunting down the biggest fights for him and will steer him back into title contention, where I am confident he will bring home the belts and become a household name in British boxing.”
