"Big Bang"

WBC International Super-Lightweight Champion

The Big Bang is about to make an even bigger noise now that brutal puncher Pierce O’Leary has teamed up with Frank Warren and Queensberry.

The 22-year-old from Dublin is 11-0 as a professional, added to the experience of 150 amateur fights (won 140) and nine national titles, making him one of the most decorated young fighters to come out of Ireland.

With his learning fights coming to a conclusion, O’Leary wanted titles and linking up with Queensberry saw to it that he fought for the WBC International super lightweight belt in November 2022 at the 02 Arena in London.

O’Leary defeated the tough Namibian Emmanuel Mungandjela over 10 rounds and a wide points margin to win his first belt and now he holds ambitions to win further titles, preferably in his home city of Dublin.

“I am very excited, it has given me a new lease of life and I have seen how all the other lads in the gym have been treated by Frank,” said KO-artist who trains out of the iBox Gym in Bromley with fellow Queensberry fighters Dennis McCann, Sam Noakes and Henry Turner. “Going forward I am looking forward to big things and I will start collecting more belts next year.

“I can just see the level of opportunities getting bigger, more exposure, bigger titles, more fans, bigger arenas. It is everything I’ve dreamed of.

“I spoke to a lot of people and Frank is the right fit for me. I have done my apprenticeship for the last three years and I haven’t really fought any journeymen, they have all had decent records. My stepping stones now are for titles.

“I am ready to pick up some belts.

“I’ve seen the lads have fights and then get another date straight after, which is what I want going forward and BT Sport back at home in Ireland is massive. I am off YouTube now and I will be bringing the KOs onto BT. The fans will get behind me, it is only a matter of time.”
