Collins (17-0, 8 KOs), from Bearsden, is the former British champion and, last time out in May, he became WBC Silver champion with a resounding success over Lee McGregor.

Lorente (20-0-2, 8 KOs), 29 from Barcelona, first became European champion in March of 2023 with a third round stoppage of Andoni Gago, before seizing the title again in July of last year with a decision victory over Mauro Forte. He successfully defended the belt in December against Francesco Grandelli, before his most recent defence ended in a split draw against Ruben Gil in July.

Meanwhile at lightweight, another pair of unbeaten fighters clash with Regan Glackin (16-0, 3 KOs) from Glasgow be going up against the undefeated English champion Louie O’Doherty (10-0, 2 KOs) from Essex.

Willy Hutchinson (18-2, 13 KOs), the former WBC Silver and International champion from Carstairs will return to the ring against an opponent to be named next week.

And in Area title action, the Scottish middleweight championship will be defended by Glasgow’s Aston Brown (8-0, 3 KOs) against Dundee’s Paul Kean (19-4, 2 KOs).

Completing the bumper card will be Edinburgh's featherweight Lee McGregor (15-2-1, 11 KOs), Glasgow super welterweight Drew Limond (4 0), Edinburgh light heavyweight Alex Arthur Jr (1-0), Shotts super bantamweight Marcus Sutherland (7-0, 5 KOs), Fauldhouse welterweight Reese Lynch (1-0, 1 KO) and the debut-making welterweight from Carlisle, John Joe Carrigan.

“This represents a golden opportunity for Nathaniel,” said promoter Frank Warren. “Not only does he have a shot at the European title against the champion Lorente, but the other major plus for Nathaniel is the chance to headline a show in his home city and see to it that there are many more repeat visits and a golden future for Scottish boxing.

“Now that Josh Taylor has called time on his glorious career, the door is open for Nathaniel to lead the way and keep bringing the action to his homeland.

“We’ve got some great fights lined up for October 4, with Willy Hutchinson as he looks to put himself back in the world title picture, plus the lightweight fight between Regan Glackin and Louie O’Doherty - this is one not to be missed as it is a genuine 50-50. Aston Brown will also be looking to build on an eye-catching display in May when he defends his Scottish title against Paul Kean.

“I am absolutely thrilled and very excited by the young talent pool we have assembled north of the border, headed up by Drew Limond, Alex Arthur Jr and Reese Lynch, who will all feature on the night, alongside a future English star in John Joe Carrigan, who is a nine-time national champion and World Under-19 gold medalist.”
